Application terms
The Emerging Manager Summit
1. About these terms
The Summit is on Monday 30 November 2026 at Sopwell House, St Albans. British Business Bank and EUVC present it. EUVC Portugal, Lda (Alameda das Linhas de Torres, N.º 230 – 5º A, 1750-150 Lisboa, Portugal; NIPC PT513784080) runs applications, decisions and bookings. In these terms, "we" means EUVC. Contact: hello@eu.vc
By sending an application, you agree to these terms. Please also read the Privacy Notice and the Recording Notice.
2. Who may apply
You may apply if you work at a venture capital firm that is raising or managing its fund I or fund II. One or two people per firm may apply. Established multi-fund firms are not the audience.
Give true and complete answers. Applying does not guarantee a place.
3. Cost
There is no fee to apply or to attend. We cover the day, lunch, the reception and dinner. You pay for your own travel and accommodation.
4. How we decide
We select attendees together with British Business Bank, which reads the applications. Funds that British Business Bank backs get priority places: if your firm is on its list, you apply with your work email address at that firm, and you confirm that address on your personal page, we approve your application automatically, for up to two people per firm. For every other application, we approve it, put it on the waiting list or decline it.
People make these decisions, at our discretion. We do not have to give reasons. If you are on the waiting list, we may offer you a place later, but we do not have to.
5. Your place is personal
Your place is for you. Do not pass it on without asking us. If a colleague should come in your place, ask first. We decide whether to agree. Keep your personal link private.
6. Confirming and updating your attendance
If we approve you, we will ask you to confirm that you will attend. We will also ask you to complete the acceptance questionnaire. Do both by the date in our email. If you do not, we may offer your place to someone else.
If your plans change, tell us as early as you can. Then your place can go to someone else.
7. Booking sessions
- Booking is optional. It is for people who want a personal programme for the whole day. Without a booking, you may join a session when a seat is free.
- Booking opens for confirmed attendees at one announced time.
- Places go first come, first served.
- Full sessions have a waiting list.
- Pitch Roulette: one LP hosts a table of up to seven managers. Each manager pitches for three minutes and gets three minutes of feedback while the others listen. You can book one seat at one table.
- Expert corners and 1:1s run in 15-minute slots. If a slot is free on the day, you can walk up.
- Peer Circles have eight places. Six can be booked; two are kept for people who walk up.
- When you book a session with a host, the host sees your name, your firm and the note you write.
- We keep your booked seat until 5 minutes before the session starts. If you are not in the room by then, we may give your seat to someone who is waiting.
- If you cannot use a booking, cancel it so that someone else can.
8. Changes to the programme
The programme may change. Times, rooms, speakers and sessions can move. We will email you about important changes. If we cancel or move the Summit, we will tell you as soon as we can. We cannot refund travel or accommodation you have booked.
9. How we expect you to behave
- Be respectful to everyone. We may ask anyone who is not to leave, and cancel their place.
- Keep confidential what peers share in Peer Circles and Pitch Roulette. Do not pass on who said what, or details of another fund, without permission. Share only what you are free to share.
- Do not record any session yourself. That includes audio, video and AI note-taking tools.
- Do not use the Summit to sell to other attendees, or to collect their details for marketing.
10. Photography and recording
We record the main stage, every masterclass and the workshop:
- Main-stage sessions go out publicly through the EUVC podcast, and we post clips on social media.
- Masterclasses and the workshop go into the EUVC Academy for its members.
A photographer works on the day, and EUVC and British Business Bank use the photographs on their channels. In the acceptance questionnaire you choose a lanyard that tells the photographer whether you agree to appear in photos. The Recording Notice says what we record, what we do not, and how to stay out of recordings and photographs.
Ask before you photograph another person. Do not photograph Peer Circles, Pitch Roulette, expert corners or 1:1s.
11. No advice and no offer
What you hear at the Summit is general information. It is not legal, tax, financial or investment advice. LPs give feedback as opinion, not as an offer to invest. Nothing at the Summit is an offer or invitation to buy or sell any investment.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and for fraud.
Beyond that, we are not liable for loss of profit, business or opportunity, or for any loss we could not reasonably have foreseen. We are not responsible for what speakers or other attendees say or do. These limits also protect British Business Bank, and the speakers, staff and venue that help us run the Summit.
13. Your data
We use your personal data as the Privacy Notice describes.
14. Changes to these terms, and the law that applies
We may change these terms. We will tell you before the Summit about changes that matter. If you do not agree, you may withdraw your application.
The law of England and Wales governs these terms. The courts of England and Wales can decide any dispute.
